At our Tambopata Ecolodge, visiting the Amazon basin is a comfortable experience! When our guests return to our eco-lodge from the half-day, one-day or multi-day rainforest excursions included as part of the full-board ecotourism packages we offer, they can relax in style, enjoy good food, or a drink in our bar, and share stories about what they have seen in the forest with other travelers from all over the world.
Our isolated, beautiful location is surrounded by primary forest and flanked by the Tambopata River. Our eco-lodge and Private Conservation Area can be reached via a short journey by plane and boat from Cusco. We are an Amazon basin ecological destination officially classed as an eco-lodge by the Peruvian government, located in the Buffer Zone of Tambopata National Reserve, around 68 kilometers from the jungle town of Puerto Maldonado. Since 1991, we have been working in the conservation of our corner of the Peruvian Amazon, and to support the local economy in the jungles of southeastern Peru.
Our itineraries include private excursions for Ecolodge guests on isolated forest trails, in small groups within Tambopata National Reserve and its Buffer Zone, as well as extensions within the Reserve to visit picturesque forest lakes and our area’s famous macaw and parrot clay licks. Situated with the Reserve, these clay licks attract dozens of species of birds, which gather spectacularly to consume the clay they need as part of their diet.
On forest trails, rivers and lakes, and in our dining room, bar and lounge, our team of highly qualified and experienced professionals work to ensure that our guests enjoy a unique and unforgettable stay when they select one of our full-board itineraries.
We offer accommodation in cabin-style rooms, isolated from each other within our spacious tropical gardens. For their comfort, we provide our guests with spacious SUPERIOR or SUITE rooms, on a single, double, twin or triple room basis, all with private bathroom. Each bedroom has two walls formed from screens that protect guests from insects, offering a sense of close contact with the surrounding forest, while providing a secure and well-ventilated space.
Our SUITE rooms measure 34 m2 (366 square feet), while the SUPERIOR rooms measure 24 m2 (258 square feet), including hallway, bedroom, bathroom, and washing and dressing areas. These cabin-style rooms are equipped with double beds (extra-large) or king size beds. They each have a private terrace (11 m2 / 118 square feet in SUITES, and 9 m2 (97 square feet in SUPERIOR rooms), with chairs, a table and hammocks. In our fully-equipped bathrooms, guests can shower in hot water provided by solar energy.
We want our guests to come and truly experience what life is like in the Peruvian Amazon, but we also want them to be comfortable during their time with us in our unspoiled tropical forest home!
