Tourism in the Amazon rainforest is much easier than you might think. At Tambopata Ecolodge, we meet all our guests at Puerto Maldonado airport, as they disembark from flights arriving from Cusco or Lima, or we wait for them at the local bus station, if they decide to travel overland from Cusco.
After meeting our guests, we stop off at our office in town, so they can safely store all the luggage they won’t be needing during their stay with us at our eco-lodge, before driving to the river port. Here, we board one of our boats for the journey to our jungle lodge.
This boat ride is much more than a transfer to our eco-lodge. It is a great introduction to the Amazon rainforest, and a way for our guests to fully relax and unwind, as they leave behind the world dominated by humans, and enter a world that is still dominated by nature.
The remote location of our ecofriendly Tambopata Ecolodge, 68 kilometers by land and river from the nearest town and far beyond the forests where human influence is felt, offers our guests the most remarkable natural attractions of South America’s rainforest, easily reached on half-day or full-day fully guided ecotourism excursions, with evenings spent relaxing and enjoying our comfortable jungle lodge and excellent services, to a natural soundtrack provided by the nocturnal inhabitants of the surrounding forest.
Everything is included in our Amazon ecotourism packages: airport transfers, transport by vehicle and boat, guided rainforest excursions, all meals, and comfortable accommodation. The only extras our guests need to think about during their stay with us are their personal bar bill, and of course the entry cost to Tambopata National Reserve, which the Peruvian authorities use to protect and maintain this vast refuge for rainforest animals and plants that –in many cases- are endangered in other parts of South America.
So, why not visit us in our jungle home, so you can return from your Peru vacation with a fresh appreciation for the natural world?
