When you plan your Peru vacation, you will certainly want to visit Machu Picchu, spend some downtime in the city of Cusco, and maybe even do some hiking or trekking in the Andes, on the Inca Trail or one of the other less well-known routes available from Cusco.
But if you’re going to travel to Peru from your home country in North America, Europe, Australia or some other part of the world far from South America, you should make sure that you get the most out of your trip and see the best that Peru has to offer while you’re here!
And that means including an Amazon rainforest jungle trip as part of your vacation itinerary. At our Tambopata Ecolodge, we offer guests from all over the world comfortable jungle lodge accommodation, excellent food, all airport transfers and transport, and professionally guided excursions in unspoiled primary rainforest, far from the nearest human influence. When you visit the Amazon with us, you really are experiencing the jungle as it is meant to be seen!
And because of our perfect location, you can do all this as part of a short 10-day or 2-week Peru trip with family, friends or a loved one, and still have plenty of time to see Peru’s other, more famous attractions.
This is because, despite the fact that we are located in protected rainforest on the edge of Tambopata National Reserve, which we explore with our guests, we are actually really easy to get to! The nearest town to us is 68 kilometers away by river. Its name is Puerto Maldonado, and it can be reached via flights from Lima or Cusco, and also by overnight bus from Cusco.
In Puerto Maldonado, we meet all our guests from their flight or bus, take them to our office in town to help them with any last-minute preparations for their jungle trip, and then board our boat for the river journey up to our eco-lodge.
