By choosing to vacation with us at our eco-lodge, our guests are having a positive impact on the Amazon and local communities, and helping us to continue with our conservation work.
Our goal is to continue protecting the forests where we offer our ecotourism and ecoadventure activities from the many dangers that threaten so many parts of the Amazon basin, throughout South America. And we hope that all our guests will return to their home countries and spread the word regarding the importance of protecting the Peruvian Amazon.
Since 1991, we have been protecting and conserving areas of tropical forest by promoting and offering eco-travel activities. We are an Amazon basin ecological vacation destination officially classed as an eco-lodge by the Peruvian government, located in the Buffer Zone of Tambopata National Reserve, around 68 kilometers from the jungle town of Puerto Maldonado.
Our Ecolodge is designed to maximize our guests’ interaction with the Amazon. As part of our all-inclusive, fully escorted and guided ecotourism packages, we meet our guests from their flights at Puerto Maldonado airport, and get them back to the airport for their return flight to Cusco or Lima, at the end of their Amazon holiday. Our Tambopata Ecolodge can be reached via a short journey by plane and boat, or by road and river, from Cusco, and our beautiful and isolated location is surrounded by primary forest and flanked by the Tambopata River.
We offer accommodation in cabin-style rooms, set in tropical gardens and surrounded by untouched rainforest. All rooms have a private bathroom, and each bedroom has two walls formed from screens that protect guests from insects, creating a secure and well-ventilated space, while offering a sense of close contact with nature. Our Ecolodge has its own spacious and airy dining room, with walls formed by screens that protect against insects and a high roof built in the traditional Peruvian jungle style. In addition, we offer our guests another beautiful, spacious typical rainforest-style structure that houses our bar and lounge, also surrounded by screens that look out onto the surrounding forest.
But what most of our guests really come to see is the life of the rainforest. And to ensure that the travelers who come to visit our rainforest home truly experience the Amazon forest, we employ local naturalist guides, with uniquely specialized knowledge, who are experts in taking our guests to those parts of the forest where they know there is an excellent chance of seeing major fauna, while experiencing the rich variety of lush tropical forest flora.
While taking care of every detail of our guests’ rainforest vacation, including airport transfers, we offer a range of activities, suitable for all age groups, and we welcome both older travelers and children. We even offer special discounts for our youngest guests, so they can come with their family and learn more about the Amazon and the importance of protecting the natural world.
