From our jungle eco-lodge on the edge of Tambopata National Reserve, our rainforest expeditions offer our guests immersion in the nature of the Peruvian Amazon, designed to provide an authentic Amazon rainforest experience.
By staying at our jungle lodge, our guests make a meaningful contribution to our ongoing sustainable efforts to preserve and protect an area of pristine rainforest, along with the wildlife populations that live here with us.
Because we have been working to protect and conserve the rainforest around our eco-lodge for more than 30 years, our forests are healthy and typical Amazon wildlife has found a safe refuge with us. In a sign of the overall wellbeing of our Private Conservation Area and the neighboring Tambopata National Reserve -where we operate our jungle tours- keystone species, such as the insects, rodents and mammals responsible for pollination and seed dispersal, are abundant.
This is reflected in the populations of the animal species that many of those who travel to Peru and come to us to visit the Amazon rainforest are hoping to see. For example, in recent years the jaguar population in our forests has increased, and this has meant that more and more of our guests have been lucky enough to sight and even photograph these beautiful, elusive creatures.
Other apex predators that are thriving in our rainforest, and which guests can also hope to see, include giant green anacondas, four species of caiman, and pumas. At the same time, at Tambopata Ecolodge we have recorded sightings of eight species of monkey, seventeen species of macaws and parrots, and more than 600 other bird species.
For those travelers who visit Peru and want to experience the Amazon jungle as part of their dream Peru vacation, our rainforest lodge is unquestionably among the best options anywhere in South America for a truly memorable Amazon tour. More than 30 years ago, we built our sustainable lodge in a remote area of rainforest that was threatened and in need of protection. But, at the same time, we were careful to locate our conservation-based ecotourism project in a part of the Amazon basin easily reached from Lima and Cusco by air.
